Webserver Upgrade

On Friday June 24th, 2005, we successfully completed our email and hosting migration to the new server and we are happy to say that it went very well.

We have put together a small FAQ for your information. Click here for the faqs.

Customers that are using Acciss.net for ColdFusion Hosting will not have access to all new features until mid summer when we complete the second phase of our migration.

Name Server Entries

Some customer still have the web1-2.acciss.net name server configured on their domain through their Domain Registrar. This will need to be changed, as after July 31st, 2005, this name server will cease to exist.
All domains being hosted on Acciss.net servers need to have the following two name servers entered.

Primary: ns1.acciss.net
Secondary: ns2.acciss.net

If you need assistance in changing your name server, then please contact KDI at 1-800-661-1755

Other ongoing updates and migrations

Acciss.net is continuing to update its equipment and connections in the upcoming months.
Currently our customers that are hosting with us that require ColdFusion will not be moved to a new server. (However, your email service will be moved to a new server)
These customers will be moved in our second phase of our updates to a newer server with updated features. This migration is planned for late July. At the completion of the second phase, current ColdFusion Customers will be able to enjoy the same features and benefits as our regular hosting customers have. Giving us a unified feature set for all customers.
We will be working hard throughout the summer to bring all customers up to the same level of features and benefits. While we do not expect any outages due to this upgrading, customers will be informed with sufficient notice when changes are to take place.

Thank you for your patience and support.
The Staff of Acciss.net

FAQ's
Q. Why are you updating and migrating your servers?

A. At KDI we wish to provide our customers with the best service possible, with our current servers and pipeline, we have been unable to properly deliver on that promise. With new servers and a new pipeline, we can increase speed as well as improve reliability. As an added bonus, we will be adding new features to the hosting, which includes a User Friendly Control Panel, PHP support, Database support, Web/Ftp stats, self managed email accounts and an overall better online experience. (NOTE: These features will not be available to ColdFusion customers until mid summer when we complete phase two of our migration)

Q. How do I access my files and has my ftp account changed?

A. You will access your website through ftp in the manner that you are used to. Using your favorite ftp program, enter ftp.myurl.com (where myurl.com is the actual URL that you own). Your username and password have not changed.

Q. How do I access my webstats?

A. Webstats can now be found at http://myurl.com/plesk-stat/webstat (where myurl.com is the actual URL that you own).
NOTE: There are two modes for viewing the stats, one where the public can view the stats and one that requires a username and password to access them. At this point, we have enabled the username/password option. If you wish public access or wish to know(or set) your username and password, please contact KDI (1-800-661-1755) and inform the front desk of what you wish to do.

Q. How do I access my webmail?

A. Webmail is reached by typing in the following to a browser:
https://webmail.myurl.com/ (where myurl.com is the actual URL that you own).
A login screen will appear, enter you email address and your password to access your email account.

Q. I think I am missing some mail, did it all transfer across?

A. While we strive to catch every piece of mail that was on the old server, during the migration process, there is a chance that some mail went to the old server. Don't worry, this mail can be retrieved using one of the following methods:
Using your web browser, enter the following:
https://216.232.87.239/webmail/
This will bring up the webmail interface for the old server, enter your email address and password. You will be able to access any residual mail that is on the server.
or
Add a new account to you mail client that points to 216.232.87.239 for its POP3 setting. This will connect to the old server and download any left over mail.

Q. Where is the sendmail program located?

A. sendmail is available at /usr/sbin/sendmail or for scripts that require an SMTP server, please enter localhost or 127.0.0.1

Q. I can't get CGI working

A. Ensure that your CGI is in the cgi-bin directory and that the permissions are set to 755.
